Patrick Phillips
Founder & CEO

Patrick is an entrepreneur, best-selling author and Founder and CEO of the nation's largest network of independent medical billing companies, American Business Systems. He and his wife, Linda, met in high school and got married as quick as they could after graduating. They started their own medical billing company in 1987 and worked from their home until selling the business in 1994. At that time they started training and licensing other people who wanted to start their own business.

Patrick is a nationally recognized motivational speaker and author. He co-authored a book with Deepak Chopra and Dr. Wayne Dyer, Wake Up & Live The Life You Love, Finding Your Passion and he is also the co-author of a book for doctors, Cash Crunch to Cash Flow.

He has taught thousands of people from coast-to-coast how to use the secrets found in his book How to Reprogram Yourself for Success to become more prosperous and productive as human beings and he hosts a weekly webinar on how to start and run a successful medical revenue management company.
Linda Phillips
Linda is the "real" founder of American Business Systems. In 1987, while home schooling her two children, a friend who owned a durable medical equipment company asked her if she could process his medical claims. She told him she had never done medical billing, but she was sure she could figure it out. A week later, she was typing up his claims and mailing them to the insurance companies for payment.

Within two years, she and Patrick had built the company to a six-figure income, still working out of their home. Then, by 1994, they had developed a turnkey medical billing training program and began to license others to do medical billing. Linda continues to work in the business, although she no longer does the actual billing. She now spends time in community projects, as well as spending time traveling with Patrick and babysitting her four grandchildren: Ezekiel, Lia, Jonas and Olivia.
Adam Phillips

As President of ABS, Adam oversees the day-to-day operations of the company and has been a tireless advocate for providing new and improved support solutions for our licensees.  He has created new channels for communication as well as new tools for ABS support staff. He also consults with prospective licensees and guides them through the process of due diligence.

He is always looking for new ideas and suggestions, and loves to hear from licensees personally when there is a new solution that needs to be considered. It's what keeps ABS and it's licensees on the cutting edge of technology and how it relates to the medical industry.

Adam has a background in the mortgage industry and provided support and training for over 1,000 offices for a national payment-processing firm from 1994 to 2001.

Adam currently lives near Fort Worth, TX with his wife and three children. In his free time he enjoys spending time with family, cycling, and reading.
Vicki Rackner, MD
Director of Physician Marketing
Calling on her experience as a practicing surgeon, clinical faculty at the University of Washington School of Medicine and entrepreneur, Vicki Rackner translates the world of medicine into understandable strategies and tactics that are critically important to engage physicians.

This nationally noted expert, author and speaker can help you better understand the wants and needs of your clients as she draws from her experience in owning her own medical practice and dealing with billing professionals.

Sally Combest, MD
Senior Medical Advisor
Sally Combest is Clinical Associate Professor at the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio, Texas.

She is a practicing physician and is currently providing anesthesiology care to patients at UTHSCSA.

As a member of the ABS Medical Advisory Board, Dr. Combest teaches for American Business Systems and consults with new ABS Licensees on a variety of topics relating to medical billing and practice management.
Terrence C. Patterson, M.E.d., MHA
Marketing Consultant
Terrence Patterson has been involved in Healthcare Administration for over twenty years. He has guided the development of hundreds of employees in the insurance and healthcare industries, working with Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts, United Health Plans of New England and Delta Dental of Massachusetts.

Terrence’s educational background includes a Masters degree of Education in management from Cambridge College and a Masters degree in HealthCare Administration from Suffolk University, Sawyer School of Management.

As a Business Coach for ABS, Terrence works with individual Licensees to move them towards their goals and teaches business success principles via webinars and blog entries for ABS.
Jeanette Weiler, CPC
Certified Profesional Coder
Jeanette Weiler is a Certified Professional Coder and a member of the American Academy of Professional Coders.  Jeanette brings over 25 years of practice management, coding, auditing and billing experience to ABS Licensees.

She was the Practice Administrator for several multi-specialty practices and was also a coder/auditor for a large New Mexico hospital for over six years.

Jeanette is a Certified ABS Trainer and produces and hosts webinars for ABS and its Licensees. As a member of the ABS Advisory Board she assists with training and consulting on a variety of topics relating to medical reimbursement and billing.
Eric Ogea
Director of Research & Development
Eric Ogea brings over fifteen years experience in the areas of leadership development, executive coaching, training and consulting for Fortune 500 companies. Offering a rare blend of creative and operational strengths, Eric has achieved exciting human performance and employee awareness, and is recognized for his success in leadership development and inter-company relationships.

His practical experience as a trainer, coach, and counselor has successfully aided companies and organizations in achieving overall business goals.
Jordan Ransom
Director of Operations
Jordan has over 15 years experience in operations management. He earned a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Texas at Arlington.

As Director of Operations, Jordan focuses on keeping all aspects of ABS running smoothly and solving any problems that arise as well as planning for the future to keep ABS Licensees leaders in their marketplace.
Jason Pettit
Creative Director
Jason has extensive training and 20 years of experience as a graphic artist. He completed his B.A. at LeTourneau University. Jason is an accomplished musician with a band that landed a national recording contract. He enjoys spending time with his family including his three young sons.

Jason’s passion in life is helping others succeed in their own business. As our Creative Director, he heads up development of all the great marketing materials and designs utilized by ABS Licensees in their marketing to doctors.
Dirk Davis
Business Development
Dirk has invested more than 15 years in helping others to be as successful as they want to be. Through leadership positions in a variety of industries he has helped countless individuals advance their careers while achieving and exceeding their goals, both personal and professional. He is a graduate of West Texas State University.

His passion shines through as he helps folks realize their dream of owning their own business through the opportunities that ABS offers. Dirk is married and has 2 children and lives in Flower Mound, Texas.
Sarah Phillips
Business Development
Sarah has been involved with ABS for many years as a personal assistant, trainer, seminar presenter and licensing consultant. As the daughter of the Founder, Patrick Phillips, she has trained by his side for over a decade and takes pride in guiding prospective Licensees through the due-diligence process.

She has a degree in Theater Arts and plays for a local roller derby team. She currently resides in Fort Worth, Texas with her beautiful three year old daughter.
Hannah Bellah
Licensing Coordinator
Hannah is our Licensing Coordinator and will likely be your first touch point when you contact ABS. She oversees our day-to-day operations, assists our Business Development Coaches and Founder, and works with new licensees to get them registered and booked for the Live Training workshops here in Dallas. Helping to launch entrepreneurs on their way to freedom in their own business is very fulfilling to her.

She is a mom to two amazing boys who color everything she does with purpose and ensure that there is never a dull moment in their home. Her interests include anything that requires creativity and organization, and she has several years of experience as a portrait photographer.

Jo Ann Phillips
Materials Coordinator
Jo Ann joined ABS at it’s inception in 1994 and has since become an integral piece of our operations and services to our licensees. As our Materials and Shipping Coordinator she oversees printing and assembly, inventory, and assists with the production of our Live Training workshops. She exercises her strengths of organization, communication, and dedication to serve the entire ABS team.

In addition to being an irreplaceable part of our ABS family, Jo Ann is also sister-in-law to our Founder, Patrick Phillips. She lives near Fort Worth with her husband Rick and her daughter Alysha, and loves the Cowboys and the Beatles.
