Patrick Phillips, FounderBusiness Background
I dropped out of college at age 21, only 18 hours away from a degree, as I had started my own business and was making more money than most people with a Ph.D. Everything I know about business was learned in the school of hard knocks, and I have passed this work ethic on to my children. I worked for Apple Computer back in the early days (1982) when they had a plant in north Dallas. I was a buyer and had six other buyers working under me, putting in 80 hours a week and loving it. I am probably one of the most knowledgeable CEOs when it comes to the technical side of software and hardware, as I spent a lot of time learning and teaching others how to use personal computers in the '80s and early '90s.
As you can see from the photos I am madly in love with my family, and especially my four grandchildren. They are the only reason I put in so many hours now that I am "retired". I am continuing to build this family business so I can leave a legacy for my children and their children. And I have a blast doing so, by the way!
I have been a "serial entrepreneur" for most of my adult life, and at one time I ran two businesses simultaneously, each bringing in over a million dollars a year. I continue to act as the spokesman for ABS and function as its CEO. I have Jordan Ransom and my son, Adam, running the day-to-day activities of the company, and spend most of my time in research and development of new services and technology partners. Everything we do to improve the services offered by our Licensees makes it better for them and us.
